Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and [COMPANY LEGAL NAME] ("we", "us") for your use of the Uncloaked by Casper's Cloak ("Uncloaked") website and apps (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.

What Uncloaked does, and doesn't do

Uncloaked checks your verified email address against publicly known data breaches, explains what each one exposed and suggests what to do. It also offers tools to check passwords, links and photos.

Please understand the limits:

  • We can only report breaches that have been published and added to the sources we use. Breaches that were never made public, or were sold privately, can't appear. "No known exposures found" is not a guarantee that your information is safe.
  • The link check compares a site against a list of known threats. A site not on the list may still be harmful.
  • Our suggestions are general guidance, not professional security, legal or financial advice.

Your account

  • You must be at least 13 years old (16 in the EU/UK) to use the Service.
  • You sign in with one-time codes sent to your email or phone. Keep access to those secure; you're responsible for activity on your account.
  • Only check identifiers you own. We verify ownership before checking an email, and you agree not to try to get around that or to use the Service to look up other people.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the Service to harm, harass, stalk or target anyone, including people who appear in breach data;
  • try to access accounts or data that aren't yours, or probe, scan or overload our systems;
  • scrape, resell or redistribute the Service or its data without our written permission;
  • reverse engineer the Service except where the law allows it.

We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

Subscriptions (Uncloaked Plus)

  • Plus is a paid subscription that adds ongoing monitoring and alerts. Prices and billing periods are shown before you buy.
  • Subscriptions bought through the App Store or Google Play are billed and managed by Apple or Google under their terms. You cancel them in your store account settings. Deleting your Uncloaked account does not cancel them.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep Plus until the end of the period you've paid for.
  • Refunds are handled under the policy of the store you bought from, or [REFUND POLICY FOR WEB PURCHASES].
  • Free trials, if offered, convert to a paid subscription unless you cancel before the trial ends.

Third-party data

Breach information comes from third parties, including Have I Been Pwned. We don't control those sources and can't guarantee they are complete or accurate.

Changes and availability

We may change or discontinue features. We'll give reasonable notice of changes that significantly affect paid features. We aim to keep the Service available but don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free.

Disclaimers and liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before it arose. Ending your use

You can delete your account at any time from your profile. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive (such as disclaimers and liability limits) continue after your account ends.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [STATE / COUNTRY], except where your local consumer law gives you rights that can't be waived.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we'll update the effective date above and, for material changes, tell you in the app or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the new terms.
